Convenient location, the hotel is old, the equipment needs to be updated, the hotel staff seems to be routine, there are no surprises, it feels different from other best western hotels

If you’re going to operate a rundown, outdated hotel, the price should reflect that. Unfortunately, this hotel charges premium rates while offering extremely poor conditions — and that’s why I’m leaving this review. Our room had peeling wallpaper and water-damaged ceilings in the bathroom. The air conditioner made such a loud, awful noise that it kept us up most of the night. The entire room had a terrible smell, and there was a strong urine odor just outside the patio area. The freezer was completely iced over, making it nearly impossible to fit even a small freezer pack. What really pushed it over the edge was the additional $25 charge for early check-in — on top of already outrageous nightly rates. I find it unacceptable for any hotel to tack on fees like that, especially when the overall experience is so poor.

We came into Portsmouth for a conference and stayed at the Best Western Plus Portsmouth Hotel and Suites. Even though we we had some issues they were met promptly by the General Manager. His communication was excellent. The staff was friendly and appraochable.

Worst hotel staybin a while
First person checking in was not helpful. Asked me for my credit card 2 times and i told him that I already handed it to you. 2nd the room wasnt clean- tjeirnwas dust on the desk, under tje bathroom sink, and stains on the bed linens. Batjroom door was hard to latch,bed mattress were uncomfortable. 3rd i went tonmove my car out of water and i didnt feel safe outside. 4th the amount of people using ***** outside so close to building. No designated spot for smokers away from building and doors. Inwas traveling with a baby and the smell of pot was smelled all threw out the 1st floor near the pool.
